Virginia building codes
Virginia regulates construction statewide through the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), codified at 13VAC5-63 and administered by the Department of Housing and Community Development. The USBC incorporates editions of the International Codes by reference with Virginia amendments; the 2009-cycle USBC took effect March 1, 2011.
